About this policy

Peter Hlavatik (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides KeepReceipt and is responsible for the developer-controlled processing described here. This policy explains how KeepReceipt handles information when you use the app, website, or support email.

Information stored on your device

KeepReceipt does not require an account and does not send receipt data to a developer-operated server. The app does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party software-development kits.

The following information may be stored locally on your device when you choose to provide it:

• receipt images imported from the camera, Photos, or Files;
• merchant names, purchase dates, prices, currencies, notes, tags, and item details;
• text recognized from receipt images using Apple’s on-device Vision framework;
• return and warranty dates and reminder preferences; and
• app preferences such as the default currency and whether Face ID lock is enabled.

Permissions

KeepReceipt accesses the camera, selected photos or files, notifications, and Face ID only when you use the related feature and after any permission required by iOS. Denying a permission limits only the related feature.

On-device processing and reminders

Receipt recognition and storage occur on your device. KeepReceipt does not upload receipt images, recognized text, merchant details, prices, or notes to us.

Return and warranty alerts are scheduled locally through Apple’s notification system. KeepReceipt stores only the information needed to show and manage those reminders on your device.

Purchases

Optional KeepReceipt Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. KeepReceipt receives App Store product and entitlement status needed to unlock purchased features. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Exporting and sharing

When you export a receipt, PDF, or CSV file, KeepReceipt creates the file on your device and presents the iOS share sheet. The destination you choose may have its own privacy practices. Copies you save or share outside KeepReceipt are under your control and are not removed when you delete the original receipt from the app.

Retention and deletion

Local receipt data remains on your device until you delete individual receipts, use Delete All Receipt Data in KeepReceipt Settings, or remove the app. Delete All Receipt Data also removes staged export files and cancels associated reminders; it does not reset app preferences or App Store purchases. iOS may retain device backups according to your Apple backup settings and Apple’s policies.

KeepReceipt does not retain a server-side copy that we can access, export, correct, or delete for you. You can export receipt information from the app before deleting it.

Support correspondence

If you contact support, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and technical details you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request, diagnose the reported issue, prevent abuse, and keep a reasonable record of the support conversation. Email providers process the message in order to deliver and store it.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized where practical. Do not include receipt images, payment details, loyalty numbers, addresses, or other sensitive purchase information unless it is necessary to resolve your request.

Data sharing, sale, and tracking

We do not sell or rent personal information. KeepReceipt does not track you across apps or websites and does not share receipt content with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.

We may disclose information you voluntarily send to support when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect legal rights and safety.

Website hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel. Vercel may process routine request information—such as an IP address, browser information, requested URL, and timestamp—to deliver, secure, and operate the website. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy. KeepReceipt does not add analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, forms, or cookies to this site.

Your choices and rights

You can review, correct, export, and delete local receipt information directly in KeepReceipt. For support correspondence, you may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection where applicable law provides those rights. You may also contact your local data-protection authority. These rights can be limited where the law permits or requires retention.

Children

KeepReceipt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

KeepReceipt relies on iOS app sandboxing, device data protection, and optional Face ID lock to help protect locally stored information. No storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and any files you export or share.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when KeepReceipt’s features, data practices, or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and publish the current version at https://keepreceipt-app.vercel.app/privacy.
